South Division

Barron Woodring, Rockets Hockey Club 

All hail the Black-and-Red Barron, as the Army Black Knights recruit put together five goals over a three-point weekend that saw them defeat the Jersey Hitmen and fall in a shootout to the Mercer Chiefs. The ‘02 from Downers Grove, Ill., scored four goals against Mercer and then added one more in the victory over the Hitmen. He now has seven goals over each of his last four games going into 2023. 

Defense: Mitchell Floccare, Utica Jr. Comets

Floccare (‘02/Buffalo, N.Y.) was busy with three games over the last week, staying even in plus-minus while eking out a win in a split with the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders. He posted two assists and the game-winning goal in Sunday’s victory with just five minutes left. He also had seven takeaways over the last three contests, including a loss to the Jersey Hitmen. 

Goaltender: Marks Slavinskis-Repe, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 

Slavinskis-Repe (‘03/Riga, Latvia)  was put into the net for a victory against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers and stopped 42 of 45 shots for a .933 save percentage in the Dec. 17 contest. Slavinskis-Repe has put together six victories for the season. 

North Division

Forward: Easton Ryan, Boston Junior Bruins

Captain of the Junior Bruins, Easton Ryan (‘03/Nepean, Ontario) was on fire this week. Aiding in big wins over the South Shore Kings and Boston Advantage, he picked up six points – scoring two goals and adding two assists against the South Shore Kings and two assists against the Advantage. He currently leads the Junior Bruins with 33 points (13 goals, 20 assists) and is tied for fourth in the NCDC in points.

Defense: Martin Marnauzs, Twin City Thunder

Picking up two points this week with one goal and one assist, Marnauzs (‘02/Naperville, IL) helped the Twin City Thunder earn wins over the Islanders Hockey Club along with a huge shootout win over the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs. He was a +3 with eight blocked shots and 23 takeaways in the Thunder’s 2-1 week.

Goaltender: Jacob Torgner, South Shore Kings

With a .944 overall save percentage, Torgner (‘03/Mjölby, SWE) picked up two wins this week for the South Shore Kings. He faced 83 shots with 78 saves; Earning a #ShutoutShoutout over the Northern Cyclones he stopped all 19 shots and in a win over New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs he stopped 27 of the 28 shots against.
