NCDC Players Of The Week: Dec. 7, 2022

(Dec. 1-5) 

North Division 

Forward: Michael Roby, New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs

Roby (‘03/Churchville, Pa.) is a first-year Monarch out of the Elite Hockey Academy AAA program. He has had a fantastic start to December, posting two goals and three assists for five points in three games. That is almost half of his total 11 points thus far this year as he helped his team go 2-0-0-1 to start the month. 

Defense: Martin Marnauzs, Twin City Thunder

An ‘02 blueliner with three years of Tier II experience over more than 80 games, Marnauzs showed his defensive acumen in a close loss to the Northern Cyclones. He finished with a +1 rating while earning five defensive takeaways. In 12 games with the Thunder this year, he has a 2-1-3 line. 

Goaltender: Nicholas Bevilacqua, Boston Advantage 

Bevilacqua (‘03/Abington, Mass.) is back with the Advantage this year after previously playing in their inaugural season of 2020-21. He had the best performance in multiple games to start December, posting a 2-0 record with a .935 save percentage, stopping 43 of 46 shots in his two starts to improve to 12-2-1-0. He is second in NCDC wins. 

South Division 

Forward: Vladislav Pshenichnikov, Utica Jr. Comets

The former New York Aviator (2020-21) has become a fantastic NCDC forward already, a great example of #USPHLAdvancement In Action. This past weekend, during the Jr. Comets’ 2-1 weekend, he posted three goals and four assists for seven points. He was also a +4 defensively. Overall, he has 19 points in 23 games thanks in large part to a 5-4-9 run over his last six games. 

Defense: Michael Webster, Utica Jr. Comets

The second-year Jr. Comet blueliner had a three-assist weekend and was a +3 for his team as they picked up two key wins against the Rockets Hockey Club. The ‘02 from Sartell, Minn., averaged more than 22 minutes per night. He has put together 13 points in 23 contests this year. 

Goaltender: Ryan Keyes, Mercer Chiefs

A former USPHL 16U National Champion with the Rockets Hockey Club, Keyes (‘03/Fairbanks, Alaska) put up a 35-save shutout of the Connecticut Jr. Rangers, his first shutout in the NCDC. He also improved to 4-0-0-1 in his last five starts, all since Nov. 1. Overall, Keyes is 5-2-0-1 with a .921 save percentage.
